EnviroTech Innovation Competition Rules and Regulations

 
 

Team Eligibility and Requirements:

  • Each team must consist of 2 to 5 students currently enrolled in high school or university.

  • Teams must consist of at least two members at all times. While members may leave their team (with notice), no new members may be added after registration.

  • Each team’s submission must be original work developed collaboratively. Elements developed by others may be used only with proper credit and permission.

  • Participants may only be part of one team throughout the entire competition.

  • The use of artificial intelligence is permitted for research purposes only and must not be used to generate or complete any part of the submission without proper attribution and human oversight.

Round 1 - Online Submission and Screening:

  • Teams must submit a pitch video, slide deck, requested funding amount/valuation, and a clear explanation of their prototype concept and idea via the official Google Form by the deadline provided.

  • Video must not exceed 10 minutes, including the opening and closing.

  • The pitching video must clearly explain the idea, its innovation, and its environmental benefits. (refer to Round 1 Judging Criteria)

  • Video footage can be shot by any kind of electronic device.

  • English subtitles, clear audio with an appropriate volume, and high-resolution footage are suggested.

  • Videos must be uploaded to an online platform (e.g., Google Drive, YouTube).

  • The settings of the submission video must be set to “public” to be eligible for the judge’s evaluation.

  • After the evaluation period, teams can choose whether to open their video to the public.

  • Submissions will be evaluated based on creativity, feasibility, environmental impact, and potential for execution, as described under Round 1 Judging Criteria.

  • Judges will review all entries and select the top teams to move on to Round 2 (live competition).

  • Teams are responsible for ensuring that their files are complete and submitted on time.

Round 2  - Live Pitch and Investment Round:

  • Selected teams will present live in front of the judges and audience.

  • Teams must pitch their prototype concept in greater detail without exceeding the presentation limit of 15 minutes, followed by a 15 minute Q&A session.

  • Teams must answer questions from judges and explain how they plan to use their requested investment fund.

  • Based on the Round 2 Judging Criteria, judges will allocate investment funds to the top 5 teams based on potential, clarity, and impact.

    • Investment funds are limited to 50,000 baht per team

  • Selected teams will use their investment to build a working prototype before the final round (Round 3).

Round 3 - Prototype Evaluation and Awards:

  • The final 5 selected teams will present their working prototypes.

  • Teams will have 15 minutes to present their prototype, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session.

  • Judges will assess the practicality and effectiveness of the prototype based on the team’s project concept according to the Round 3 Judging Criteria.

  • The 3 most outstanding teams are granted additional award money

    • First place receives 30,000 baht

    • Second place receives 20,000 baht

    • Third place receives 10,000 baht

Conduct and Fairplay:

  • Teams must conduct themselves respectfully and professionally throughout the competition.

  • Plagiarism or submission of work not primarily created by the team may result in disqualification.

  • Teams may receive guidance or mentorship, but must maintain control and authorship over their project.

  • Judges’ decisions are final and cannot be appealed.

  • Projects submitted must not have been previously awarded in any other competition.

Rights and Acknowledgements:

  • All intellectual property developed by teams remains the property of that team. 

  • By entering the competition, teams give EnviroTech the right to publicly share their submissions for promotional or educational purposes (with credit). 

  • Awards and funding are based on the judges' decision. If the final submissions do not meet the expected standards, judges reserve the right to not allocate all awards or full investment funds.

  • Sponsors may request to connect with teams for further development, subject to mutual agreement. 

  • Sponsors of the EnviroTech Innovation Competition will be given priority rights to initiate follow-up discussions or investment opportunities with the teams they are interested in, subject to mutual agreement.

  • Sponsors also reserve the right to determine whether third-party companies may collaborate with specific teams in the EnviroTech Innovation Competition.
